Entry number twenty: Maka Albarn and Soul Evans
I credit Maka and Soul for getting me BACK into anime. Their show, "Soul Eater" was a breath of fresh air for me. For a while, a lot of anime had become so cliche'. Speed lines, sailor uniforms, and long winded speeches about how defeat was inevitable. But with "Soul Eater", they took the formula for a lot of anime about teenagers learning to become heroes, and made it HIP. And the first sign of that was with the DOPE character designs and outfits the characters wore. On top of that, the action was at a nice pace where things were explained in the length of ONE episode, while still telling a continuous, over lapping story arc. Not to mention.......the fight scenes were NIIIIICE. Even the "filer" episodes were worth watching.....and I HATE filler episodes. Thanks to Maka and Soul, I slowly crept back into the bug-eyed world of anime
And yeah yeah......I know everyone hates how it ended, so spare me lol
